Repair Minecraft Error Failed to Write Core Dump on Windows 10

Did you have problems connecting to or creating a server in Minecraft with the error message “Error writing memory dump” in Windows 10?

If you’re reading this, you may have had trouble connecting to a friend’s server in Minecraft, or you may not be able to play the game in general because of a kernel dump error message. This problem mainly occurs on Windows systems because of faulty graphics drivers, incorrect settings, or damaged system files.

Either way, we are here to help. Today we’re going to show you some tips and tricks on how to fix the Minecraft bug report “Memory Dump Write Error” in Windows 10.

Create a new dump file

  • Open the Minecraft launcher.
  • Open Task Manager and go to Processes for Windows 8 / 8.1 or Apps for 7.
  • 3 Right-click on the Java (TM) Platform SE Binary or just click on MC Launcher.
  • Find “Create dump file” and click on it.
  • Wait until it finishes and play Minecraft without crashing.

Activate VSync and Triple Buffering (Nvidia)

If you are using a Nvidia graphics card, the graphics card may not force triple buffering or Vsync may not be enabled. You can also enable it in Minecraft game settings. However, it’s best to try it in the Nvidia settings menu. Here’s how it could be done:

  • Right-click on your desktop and select “Nvidia Control Panel”.
  • Then go to “3D Settings” on the left menu bar and click “3D Settings Management”.
  • Now go to the “Program Settings” tab on the right menu bar.
  • In the section “Choose a program to configure” click “Add”. Then click “Browse” and go to the place where you installed Java. Select the file javaw.exe from the list and click “Open”.
  • If you can’t find this file, this is the default installation location for Java 6 and Java 7:
  • Java 7- C: / programs / Java / jre7 / bin / OR C: / programs (x86) / Java / jre7 / bin /
  • Java 6 – C: / Programs / Java / jre6 / bin / OR C: / Programs (x86) / Java / jre6 / bin /
  • After selecting the Java file, scroll down and find “Vertical Sync”. Select the file and select ON from the menu in the lower right corner. Do the same for the triple buffer.
  • Then click Apply to save your changes. Now close the dialog box and start the game. Check if Minecraft’s “Couldn’t write memory dump” error has been fixed.

Update your Intel graphics card driver to the latest version

If you use an Intel integrated graphics card, you probably have a problem with the ig9icd64.dll file. This file is part of the OpenGL driver for Intel Graphics Accelerator.

If this script is applicable to your current situation, the solution is to update all graphics drivers with the Intel Update Assistant utility.

Many affected users who were previously unable to create Minecraft servers confirmed that this process eventually stabilized the game.

Here is a quick guide to upgrading Intel Graphics drivers to the latest version:

  • Follow this link (here) and click “Start”.
  • Then wait until the first scan is complete. Once the process is complete, click “Download All” and wait until the download is complete.
  • After each download is complete, double-click each executable installation file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation.
  • After each new update is installed, reboot your computer and see if the memory dump recording error is fixed by trying to login or create a Minecraft server.

Update Java

Java is an important part of Minecraft to work properly on your computer. If you recently updated the game, the Java installer package on your computer may not be compatible with the current version of Minecraft.

To solve this problem, you can try updating the Java installer package to fix the compatibility problem.

  • On your computer, press the Windows + S key on your keyboard and find Java.
  • Then click “Configure Java” to open the settings.
  • Finally, go to the “Refresh” tab and click “Refresh Now”.
